The Dengie Local was proud to be the sponsors of the official opening event of One Place Burnham which took place on Friday 11th July. Having been operating since Easter 2008, ‘One Place’, a multi-agency information. advice and support centre embraces the involvement of a range of partner agencies.
The theme of the project, ‘One Place, One World, One Vision’,
represents the recognition from individual agencies that by working together in a joined up way, services can be more effectively and creatively provided. The traditional problem of individuals being passed from agency to agency has been swept away by a commitment to provide more accessible and responsive information services without the constraints of traditional organisational boundaries.
This innovative ground breaking project brings together the voluntary, statutory and private sector to provide a diverse range of services under one roof. This includes Tourist and Community Information, Policing, social and health care themes, training and volunteering opportunities and access to specialist ‘surgeries’ including youth services, support with daily living and an opportunity to meet the local media.
The key partners, The Dengie Project Trust, Essex Police, Maldon District Council, Healthy Living Solutions/PCT and Burnham Town Council will be working together to address aspects of everyday life. These include community safety, care for the environment, health and wellbeing and many more.
Jacqueline Sinden, speaking on behalf of Dengie Project Trust who are responsible for co-ordinating day to day activities at One Place said “ Today sees the fruition of a dream. Thanks to the commitment and hard work of all those within the partnership, we are here to celebrate what we have achieved so far. We believe that through partnership working the communities involvement in the project will go from strength to strength” Return to News |
